Windows Manager does not work

Description muemarco 2011-08-03 20:08:48 CEST
In the settings Menu (customize your desktop) the Windows Manager opens with an empty window. It is impossible to change any settings.
When I open a new window it sticks to the top level above all other windows but the first window that I opened keeps the focus. Clicking with the mouse to other windows does not help.
There is no boarder on my windows.
I cannot move the windows around on the desktop.
All the minimize, maximize, close etc. buttons are missing in all the windows.

Missing data here...

Can you provide:

1. The output of" ps auxww" to check if the window manager is running
2. From a terminal, run

   $ xfwm4 --replace --daemon

   And provide the output of the above command

3. What's your distro?
