i'm not able to change the size of the windows.
I cannot even activate a different window if I open a new on, the control remains on the previous opened window.
All the minimize, maximize etc. buttons don't work.

It works on mine. Could you tell me the version of xfwm4 you have? (xfwm4 -V)

Well, the question is aimed at the original reporter.

Of course it works for me, what is described makes the window manager unusable, I would certainly not have released a stable version if such a bug was reproducible for me... That's not the point.

The descriptions really looks like is some other app had an active grab on the pointer/keyboard, so I would suggest to start investigating with a very simple, basic session and try to isolate other apps as a start.

My apologies, I misread the name, I was intending my message to go to muemarco@gmail.com

Actually this occured on my older Notebook, I guess there I had xfce version 4.6.
Maybe the error doesn't occur in the newer versions. Since I installed 4.8.0 I never had such a problem.

Hi,

Is it possible it's a broken configuration? Xfconf settings should be reset, however there is no proper way doing it automatically.

The following command should clear all existing settings for xfwm4:

  xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -r -R -p /

Before running this command, can you attach the following file to this bug?

 ~/.config/xfce4/xfconf/xfce-perchannel-xml/xfwm4.xml

Thank you,
Mike

Hi,

This report was made against Xfce 4.6 and would not be reproduced by the OP. I am in favour of closing the report as FIXED but will leave it open for a while if someone wants to help diagnose it.

Thanks,

Closing as we had no activity and could not reproduce for 3+ years now.
