I use xfce on a netbook and most of the application in full screen mode. Therefore I set for all xfce panels the autohide property to “on”. Now, if I like to close a full screen application and I move the mouse pointer to the window close button [x] then the xfce panel appears and I hit the system quit button of the panel.
It would be nice if there is a (customizable) panel show delay time, so the users has enough time to hit the window and not the panel.
