I don't know if this is a bug or it is not implemented yet. notification-daemon-xfce displayed localized notifications while xfce4-notifyd does not.
xfce4-notifyd just displays what it gets from the app.
Can you please give me a hint which app is to blame here. dbus?
The application that wants to put up a notification is "to blame" I suppose. The notification daemon is "stupid" with regard to the text sent to it -- all it does is display what it's told to.
Okay, the notifications are untranslated if I eject/unmount a cd/dvd/usb-device via thunar or the desktop icon. So it is probably an issue with thunar or xfdesktop, but both of them have localizations installed. Maybe it is not thunar or xfdesktop but another xfce app and the problem is related to bug #5547 [1] and #5733 [2].
