I utilize compiz (mostly eye-candy and the cube feature) and have been attempting to find a way of having multiple desktop background images for each face of the cube. I also want to use the desktop menus and icons provided by Xfdesktop. If "transparent" was an option to the backdrop color this could be accomplished.

Running Xubuntu 8.04, compiz & emerald

Reproducible: Always

Huh, that's a cool idea. Shouldn't be too hard either.

This should be in the alpha...

This isn't working for me in 4.6-RC1. I've got compiz providing the background via the Wallpaper plugin, and xfdesktop set to transparent background. What I get is xfdesktop's background appears corrupted, though the icons and menus work flawlessly.

Shame you didn't notice until now... this'll have to wait...

No change of behaviour in xfdesktop/xfce version 4.6.1

Transparent color option is available in xfdesktop 4.10. Marking resolved.
