i have a few months debian installation with xfce. after some time the copy to clipboard stopped to work. steps to reproduce: 1. i do select copy to clipboard option and select a region. 2. then i press ctrl-v to gtalk window: no result 3. i do the same to gimp and get the message: There is no image data in the clipboard to paste. 3.1 also when i did do it with GIMP i have got that whearly icon indicating some progres for at least 15 seconds. What is going on? Found this on the Bubuntu pages: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-screenshooter/+bug/1758707 Looks relevant.
also it does not matter what kind of 'Region of capture' you choose.
hmm when unticking 'capture the mouse pointer' it starts to work. really strange...
hmm now the pointer does not have any relevance.
Possibly a dup of Bug #13537, can you try xfce4-settings-4.13.6+?
sorry i tried testing and unstable on debian but all give me 4.12 is there any other way to troubleshoot this?
For Ubuntu there are PPAs[1], for Debian I don't know. I just noticed that the selected version of screenshooter on this bug report is 1.8.2, that's too old, there were many bugfixes since then. 1 - https://launchpad.net/~unit193/+archive/ubuntu/xfce
sorry i hooked it up to unstable but only the 4.12 version was available. when i did try experimental i have got into dependencies hell. there is no way i can bring current version with debian without messing with dependencies or even compiling. leave this one please open and i will try to check at ubuntu bugs if this is still present.
I'm closing this bug, you can reopen if this is still a problem after updating screenshooter and xfce4-settings.
