Hello, I always choose xfce4-terminal as my most favorite terminal. But these days I often get a problem with it. When I set tab's title, the terminal immediately freezes. Hi Dong, This looks like a duplicate of bug #13996. However, could you please specify gtk3 versions that your Mint 18.3 and Ubuntu 17.10 machines are using?
Hi Igor, It's GTK3 3.18.9 You might be right. There is no problem on my virtual machines where GTK3 3.22.25 is running. Regards, Dong
I may have mistake when I said that "this problem also happens on another machine using Ubuntu 17.10". I have some VirtualBox VMs in which I installed several versions of Ubuntu, CentOS... for test, and I don't remember exactly it happened on which ones.
Hi Dong, Thanks for the update. Would it be possible for you to also check your Ubuntu 17.10 system? It should have gtk 3.22.x which shall not suffer from this bug, per my understanding.
Yes, there is no problem in Ubuntu 17.10 system. Because I could not upgrade gtk3 to latest version in Ubuntu 16.04 so I've just installed Ubuntu 17.10 for my laptop and PC, the issue no longer affect to me now.

BTW, I was able to update my Ubuntu 16.04 installation to gtk 3.20.8 by using the following ppa: https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/ubuntu/gnome3-staging. Setting title works fine with this version of gtk3. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 13996 ***
Thank you so much. I could not build it from source, anw I already had plan to switch to Ubuntu 17.10 minimal + XFCE because Linux Mint is plenty of bloatwares and always one beat slow in software update :)
