Hi I just marked many image files and deleted them, and then thunar crashed.  
It only deleted about half the imaged until it crashed the rest was still there but could be removed without a problem on the second try.  
This was the error message from dmesg:  
[40074.365701] Thunar[6049]: segfault at 28800004400 ip 00007f3a9bc378d5 sp 00007ffff6228008 error 4 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.5000.3[7f3a9bc03000+52000]

It sounds like you will not be able to reproduce the bug ? Possibly you still have a backup of the image-files ?

From only having such a general error-message and not be able to reproduce it is hard to say where to search for the bug.

Possibly a duplicate of Bug 12435  ... if you cannot provide more information, I would close as duplicate.
