When calling xfdesktop-settings to change image, the choice seems "hard coded" to a "backgrounds" folder. When choosing "other" to look unto a different path/image, the "Choose file" window does not allow to navigate by choice clicking on the right half of the window and selecting neither a directory nor a file.
The change can be forced by hand by clicking the "pencil icon" on the upper left and hand coding the truepath of the image in the appearing field.
Any suggestions ?

The bug IS NOT completely resolved.
I just applied the suggested patch. Nevertheless, after recompiling, che file choice dialog allows to select directories, BUT NOT image files. Image files can be selected only after "opening" the containing directory, but having to go forward or backward in the directory tree is rather clumsy and hangs the process. Why is it not possible to select directly an image file from the "file select" dialog ?
