Hello!
I'm using Xubuntu 16.10, and there's a problem with web browsers (like Firefox) no using Thunar for the "open containing folder" function if there's another file manager installed.

I had it working fine until I additionally installed Dolphin. Since then Firefox will always use Dolphin when I click at "Open containing folder".

Thunar is set as default file manager in preferred applications.

Since Firefox is said to get the application for opening local folders from 
system's preferred applications, I think it's a problem with xfce (possibly exo).
There have been other reports of the problem already, before, you can find some here:
