Is there an option to deactivate graphics acceleration in Xfdesktop ?

Changes in acceleration methods in latest graphics drivers will reveal incompatibilities with Xfdesktop and XFCE, not graphics drivers, will be considered faulty by the users.

For example :
- Cursor immediately changes when I move an icon on the desktop : two little horns over a pale body replicating the moved icon.
- Thereafter, the left horn acts as the real cursor and one has to drag the whole new thing till reboot or relogin.

My PC configuration : Xubuntu 14.04.02, ASUS UX305 (cpu Intel Core-M with Intel Integrated Graphics). Note that on this machine, XFCE 4.12 has the same problem.

May be the Intel driver is faulty (after several years of existence of the sna accel method ?). Nevertheless, the default shows up thru Xfdesktop and I suggest that Xfdesktop should offer an option to get definitely free from variations in graphics acceleration deep layers.

By the way, is graphics acceleration a must in Xfdesktop as it used to be with cpus at 400 MHz ?

That's a driver bug, nothing to do with user apps such as the desktop.

If you really want to disable hardware acceleration, best is to do that in your xorg.conf.
