Maximized windows are covered by xfce4-panel

RESOLVED: FIXED

Input box isn't visible; hidden under xfce4-panel

Maximized windows are covered by xfce4-panel with multi-monitor setup.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Attach external monitor to notebook.
2. Activate only the external monitor (everything is OK for now).
3. Deactivate external monitor and use only builtin LVDS panel.
4. Now, maximized windows are overlapped by xfce4-panel (see [1]).

Note: This happens only on builtin monitor. Maximized windows aren't overlapped when the external monitor is used.

You can't see the GtkEntry widget for a message you are typing; it is hidden under the xfce4-panel.

I think this issue is caused by:

https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11059#c21

Which has a workaround in xfwm4 with:

http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfwm4/commit/?h=xfce-4.12&id=b861c3

Can you try with current git code instead?

Closing, because this issue was resolved by the recommended patch.

Bug #11683

Reported by:
Peter Hatina
Reported on: 2015-03-11
Last modified on: 2015-03-17
Duplicates (2):
  • 11695 rotation trashes xfwm's screen edge / full screen / tiling sizes
  • 11714 regression in 4.12. Xfwm4 needs to re-read desktop size upon monitor change.
