Created attachment 5490 panels.xml The described behaviour seems to happen again. xfce4-panel-4.11.0-1.fc20.x86_64 I have about 10 icons in the notification area. Those are mostly gtk based applications. In this dedicated panel instance, there are, besideds the notification area, the desktop switcher, a sound volume changer plugin instance, as well as a mount plugin instance. It's reproducible for sure. For instance, if claws-mail starts, the wobbling happens. I use enabled composition with radeon/ati. +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #7593 +++ When panel size is less than 32px, certain triggers (disabling/enabling compositor, starting app with icon in notification area) consume 100% cpu usage for a short time period (up to 3-4 minutes) and notification-area icons wobble in the process (smaller panel size equals more noticable wobble). Processes that have high cpu usage are X, xfce4-6-systray, and all applications that have icon in notification area (ie, pidgin, transmission, sonata, claws-mail). When panel size is 32px or more, I can't trigger this behaviour, so my guess is that there is something wrong with shrinking icons in the panel. I have a wheather-update plugin, application menu, logout dialog, notification area, workspace-switcher, date/time and keyboard switcher plugins active, and only icons in the notification area tend to wobble. ArchLinux, xf86-video-intel 2.15, xserver 1.10, Xfce 4.8
