In addition to the plain SysV/Linux implementation of the volume manager interface, we could support a special backend dedicated to Linux w/ HAL. This is on very low priority.

It's still a bit rough, but it seems to work ok. Works only with pmount-hal currently, but that shouldn't be a problem. Bug #999.
