When you select one or more files in Thunar's Detailed List view and change the sort order with the file(s) still selected, the selection remains at the previous position, even though there may be a different file at that position. Steps to Reproduce: -Switch to Detailed List view -Select one or more (but not all) file(s) in a directory -Change the sort order (e.g. by Date or Size instead of by Name) Actual Results: The selection has remained on the same position, even though the directory listing has changed order, thus changing the list of selected files. Expected Results: The selection should follow the files after sorting, so the same files remain selected. Thunar 1.6.2 (Xfce 4.10) Linux 3.7.9-2-ARCH x86_64
I think this is related. If the content of a directory changes, the selection remains at the same position even if the files change. Typical use case: - move to a download folder while files are being downloaded - set sort order to Date (last modif time) The files are moving up and down while the selection remains in place. Deleting a file in this configuration is then a kind of speed game... (Confirmed with Thunar 1.6.3)
This bug also happens on Ubuntu Studio 14.10. $ thunar --version Thunar 1.6.3 (Xfce 4.10)
