When right-clicking on a file, I can open the "Properties" dialog, where I can change in the "open with..."-dropdown-list which application the file is to be opened with. But when I change it and exit the "Properties" dialog, this change is not applied immediately. When right-clicking on a file, I am still presented the old choice as the first item of the menu. Only after exiting Thunar and restarting it, the change is applied.

For example, if the standard application for a video file used to be VLC, and I change it to GNOME Mplayer, then I still get "VLC" as the application in the first item of a file's context menu, unless I restart Thunar.

This occurs in Thunar version 1.6.2 under Arch Linux.
