When I try to access the settings dialog with the button in panel's items dialog, I get a popup window with the message that the plugin left the panel and if I want to restart it. I can reprodue now also the crash with a right click on the plugin area.
Works for me. Seems only to appear in tachometer view, I gues. Thus is a duplicate of 9609. Should not happen with other presentation modes because I couldn't reproduce with text mode, e.g. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 9609 ***
