Recently installed wheezy using xfce4-goodies 4.8.2. Unable to change font color of the time in the panel with <span> tags. Tags do work on generic panel clock but not on the datetime plugin. Black on black doesn't work for me. Rollover is nice but a pain to have to mouse to see the time.
