Description macachuto 2012-11-07 16:07:25 CET
I disabled "volume management" in thunar for an experiment.
Inserted usb drive and in Thunar open it in "New Window". Thunar mount it and shows nothing.

In console I typed "mount":
/dev/sdc1 on /media/vad/USB DISK type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,uid=1000,gid=1000,shortname=mixed,dmask=0077,utf8=1,showexec,flush,uhelper=udisks2)

Now permissions:
ls -la /media/
drwxr-x---. 3 root root 4096 Nov 7 18:57 vad

ls -la /media/vad/
drwx------ 4 vad vad 16384 Jan 1 1970 USB DISK

Now question - how a user suppose to read and write to the mounted media if the parent directory owner root:root with permission drwxr-x---.?

Thanks.
