Description Benoit 2012-10-21 11:22:17 CEST
I have a dual-monitor system:
 - one 1024x768 monitor on VGA1,
 - one 1920x1200 monitor on HDMI.
Depending on my need, I use both monitors or just the 1920x1200 monitor.

When using both monitors, the background setting shows "Monitor 1 (VGA1)" and "Monitor 2 (HDMI1)".

When using one monitor (on HDMI1), the background setting only shows the config of the VGA1 monitor. As it is not the same definition, the background image is badly stretched.

I wish the background setting would be based on the connector (HDMI1 / VGA1), not just as "Monitor 1 is the one be kept when using only one monitor".

Thanks,
benoit

This was added to master in: http://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfdesktop/commit/?id=88a920697b22b0653f244ede15f8e645ae013139
If the monitor has a name it will be used when storing settings. I.e xfconf settings will be in the format
"/backdrop/screen%d/monitor%s/workspace%d/%s",
 screen_number, monitor_name, workspace_number, property
