The plug-in works quite well, in general. However, it is a pity that the location search accepts only English spelling. Neither native language spelling nor international spelling is accepted, for some cities, for others international spelling is available. Two examples from Germany: 1. Munich The native spelling is München, but the location search doesn't find that. However, it does find the Oktoberfest, when it English (Munich) or international spelling (Muenchen) is used. 2. Nuremberg The native spelling is Nürnberg, English is Nuremberg, and international would be Nuernberg. Only the English name is found. Now, this might be a problem of the Weather Channel, not so much by the plug-in. But for Non-English users a solution would be most welcome, I guess. Just looking over the fence, I can see that the KDE guys had a good idea how to tackle that: Their "Plasmoid" (desktop plug-in) allows me to specify my city in my own language. But they don't use the Weather Channel, but wetter.com (of which there is an international edition available, too). The issue is not critical, but annoying, nevertheless. But as I said, the root cause might be on the side of the data provider, not so much in the program... Best regards! Alex
Please update to 0.8.0, what you try to do should work then.
Confirmed! Thanks for the excellent tip, I just didn't notice, that 0.8 was available, because (1) it is not yet included with Slackware64-current, to which I upgraded today and (2) on the Xfce Goodies page 0.7.4 is mentioned as the latest release (which in turn is, what shipped with recent Slackware64-current). Not only the problem I posted here, but the plug-in has greatly improved in many ways! Good work by the developers, thanks for that!
