If you rename a file on the desktop by right-clicking, a context menu and a rename dialog pop up. The context menu is as long as the dialog visible but is should be hidden immediately after the mouse click. This bug is only occuring if you rename a file placed on the desktop.
Reassigning to Xfdesktop. Hi Thomas, I can't reproduce, does it always happen? Can you provide a screencast? Thank you, Mike
A screencast showing the problem is attached. And yes, it happens all the time. However I've noticed this bug can't be reproduced if the XFCE compositor is enabled.
Adding the attachment fails, strange. Downloadlink: http://www.file-upload.net/download-4558279/screencast.ogv.html
Hi Thomas, Thanks for the information, I can myself now reproduce the bug when the compositor is disabled. Regards, Mike
Any update on this?
Created attachment 5128 Hold the cursor grab when presenting the menu Rewrite how key press and release events are handled so that the right-click menu appears more consistently and will disappear when any spawned dialogs are closed. Please test the patch and let me know if it fixes the issue. Thanks.
Unfortunately your patch does not fix this bug, I've applied it on 4.10.2.
Created attachment 5129 Use async functions when working with the dbus filemanager Sorry about that. Please let me know if this patch fixes it without causing any regressions. I tried it in both master and 4.10.2.
Thank you, the second patch is fine. I haven't noticed any regressions. Will this patch make it into 4.12?
Marking as fixed.
