Please add a tree view mode as it is provided by Nautilus. Unlike the tree view in the sidebar, this feature gives a tree view in the main list view. (I don't know how to explain it better, but I hope you get the idea.) The Gnome team is crippling Nautilus now, and is about to remove this feature from Nautilus. Adding this feature to Thunar will make it much more attractive. :-)
The internals in thunar are optimized for lists in the main view. If such we'd quicker choose to implement a miller-column (bug #6182) view, then extend the details view with a tree-structure.
