Description Marianne 2012-07-04 15:26:41 CEST
Overview:
Currently, the Launcher plugin for xfce4 (at least in the version installed on Ubuntu) displays the icon of the top application in the Launcher's menu list. Depending on what apps are in the list, this can lead to a rather random icon appearing for whatever Launcher(s) you create (I use two, one for Internet apps, one for other apps). It would be a very nice addition if the Launcher preferences allowed the user to select a custom icon for the Launcher button instead, for example I would use/create some generic application icon and some generic internet icon for my two.

Step to reproduce:
1) Add Launcher to panel, and place multiple applications in the Launcher.

Actual results:
The item at the top of the Launcher's list determines the icon on the Launcher button.

Expected results:
The Launcher button could instead show a custom icon, such as one suited to a specific category of software.

Additional information:
In case choosing "enhancement" as severity was the wrong way of expressing this, this is pretty much a feature request rather than a bug.

You can set a custom icon for the first launcher and through that modify the appearance of the launcher menu in the panel.
I won't add an additional option for this.
