xfpm DPMS settings (and maybe some other) aren't re-applied when the laptop is out of sleep and the situation (AC/BAT) has changed during the sleep. It'd be better to re-check (if upower provides a signal for “resume” for example, or from time to time)
Sounds like a duplicate of https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10535. Does this still apply with xfce4-power-manager 1.3.2?
