Since I (and probably most others) never adjust the left and right channels individually, it would be nice to be able to show only mono faders, even for the stereo channels. The mixer would take up much less space that way.

I'm using version 4.8.0, which is not available as a choice in the bugzilla.

I disagree here, adjusting channels individually is still useful functionality that others would miss if it were removed for very little gain (less space). Note that there might be even 5 or more channels for some tracks and individual adjusting channels is definitely useful for surround systems. And channels of a track are already locked together by default so they are adjusted together without effort.

I didn't propose to remove any functionality. I proposed an additional functionality which enables the user to show all volume controls as mono faders.
