When daemonized under compiz, new instances of the appfinder will pop up on the foreground, but with no focus. Focus stays with the previous window. Which makes it effectively useless. Arch Linux 64bit xfce4-appfinder 4.10.0 (Xfce 4.10)
The startup-id is passed through to the newly created window, so it should be fine but iirc more apps have this problem with compiz. Else you can disable the daemon mode in the preferences window.
