Summary says it pretty much: XFWM: Tiling should be possible with snap-to-screen-borders enabled; maybe so that it only switches workspaces after having the pointer at a screen edge for a configurable amount of time. Thanks for reading this and all the best, - Armin
Seems this is possible in newer panels, unless I misinterpreted this bug. This can probably be closed.
