Only when using Places to mount drives.

Click Places -> Click ExternalHD -> mounts/opens -> xfce4-panel no longer autohides

Restarting the panel solves the problem.

Can I help with any more information?

Hi,

I get the same issue on Xubuntu 12.04 x86_64.
I have to kill xfce4-panel and restarting it allows to retrieve the autohide behavior.
I get this warning when I click on Places plugin:
(xfce4-places-plugin:9687): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment with non-zero page size is deprecated

While the problem still seems to occur, it's in the places plugin not in the panel.
