I have upgraded to Xfce 4.10 today. For the most part I reset all configurations (removing stuff from ~/.cache, ~/.config and ~/.local) so as to discard any conflict. I have the notes plugin on the panel and it's showing some issues: 1) With Xfce 4.8 (I don't know which component that's affecting it, maybe xfce4-session?), if the notes were hidden, they would start hidden and if they were open, they would start open. Now they start open even if they were hidden when I log out (saving the session, as usual). I haven't tried to log out with them open, but I'll do so to test. 2) With Xfce 4.8, every new note I created would go to the end of the list so if, for instance, I didn't put any custom name I would have "Notes">"Notes 2">"Notes 3"... Now, just to give an actual example, I have "Notes 2">"Notes 4">"Notes 3">"Notes">"Notes 5", so it's all messed up. Notes 1.7.7 in Fedora 17.
It seems to add a new note to the right of the open note instead of to the end of the list.
1) i noticed issues with the notes visible state not being saved in time after log-out; the setting "Visible" is stored in ~/.config/xfce4/xfce4-notes.rc for xfce4-notes and ~/.config/xfce4/panel/xfce4-notes-<ID>.rc for the panel-plugin 2) you can reorder the tabs by drag-n-drop, the order is saved in the rc file setting "TabsOrder"
Thanks, Mike. I was a bit tired yesterday and thinking about it, adding the notes next to the open one is more flexible (and I think it hasn't really changed, plus it may have gotten a bit messed because I had kept the notes during the upgrade). And I missed the drag&drop because I wasn't using tabs. So the bug is just the visible status. Don't know if it's practical, but shouldn't the "Visible" status be updated every time we hide or show the notes?
