After using mplayer a long time, I decided to give parole a try. I like the visual integration with xfce. It would be nice though to be able to simply close the parole window by pressing "q", like mplayer. This makes browsing through many movies more easy, especially when you're used to mplayer. Thanks for your attention, Rolf Deenen
Perhaps this also has to do with my laptop being a Thinkpad Edge. Alt-F4 in XFCE is more difficult since the F-keys are secondary (specific functions as volume and brightness being primary). To close parole I have to press Alt-Fn-F4.
...Which can off course easily be circumvented by assigning another shortcut to the "close window" function in the window manager's keyboard properties.
I believe 'q' as shortcut to close window/terminate app would never be acceptable for a GUI app - mplayer has a CLI. What I find intriguing is that parole doesn't respond to the standard Ctrl+w or Ctrl+q as shortcuts to terminate/close. Perhaps something should be done about this? (I'd be willing to)
I agree with Miguel. Currently Parole can be closed with Ctrl+Q (which is the default for most applications).
