I think it will very useful if collapsed mode will have auto completion ability.
It does this. Or am I missing something?

It completes installed applications (from desktop files), but not commands. It the latter what you expect?

I'm expecting that in collapsed mode during typing the text it's will be autocompletting with more possible ending. Or show it as combobox with possible variants.
