please show confirmation after dropping the files

Let's say user drags a file over directory and drops it. Currently it is silently done.

However it would be useful if confirmation would show up, like (from top of my head, in FF when downloading is finished) -- "5 files were copied successfully", or (in case of 1 file, and move) "foo.jpg was moved successfully".

UI feedback matters, especially for weekend-users. Thank you in advance.

That would be annoying to get an alert every time files are moved/copied, if the operation worked, nice, that's it, otherwise you'll get an error message, that how every other file manage behave.

Feedback does not mean alert. I didn't say a word about "alerting user".

Subtle showing info is possible and the reason is feedback matters. Is it still processing, it is done, or maybe there is an error with displaying an error?

"that how every other file manage behave.", I love those arguments, not wrong, not right, just be like others. Cool :-).

"please show confirmation" and "confirmation would show up" are begging to be interpreted as an alert, it could be a notification or info bar, still unnecessary for most of operations that are executed instantly, the feedback is subtle "it worked because no error was raised" or depending of the operation one sees files created or gone.

I know it's frustrating to see your proposal closed after 8yrs, in most cases users don't care after such long time (not your case, nice), I decided to close because what's request is too vague and "feedback matters" while true still can be abused in forms that are not beneficial to most users, e.g. imagine getting feedback every time your close a window -> "window xyz was closed", rename a file -> "file xyz was renamed to abc", move a file to trash -> "file xyz moved to trash", open/execute a file -> "file xyz was opened/executed", etc).

I'm not a UX expert, if you have references to back your argument, I'm willing to learn from them.
