please provide preview pane

It would be useful to have ability to turn on preview panel (undockable), so when user clicks (selects) a file, preview shows up, with basic information (like creation date, user-owner, etc).

Thunar has thumbnails, the details view and the properties dialog for that.

Neither thumbnails, nor the details view nor the properties dialog provide the functionality of a preview panel. The use case is:
 - User has many similar images in a folder
 - User must select the image based on hard-to-see detail, only visible when zoomed.

At present the only way to accomplish this is to open an image viewing program, which is awkward.

The functionality could be built into Thunar, or it could provide an integration API for an image viewing program. The integration approach would keep Thunar slim, yet allow for image viewing innovation. A combination approach is also possible, where a basic preview pane is provided, with the ability for a user to specify an image viewer to hook in instead.

BTW, the Open Files dialog already has a basic preview pane. It would be better if the preview pane was resizable and the image grew/shrank with the preview pane.
