When I choose "xfce4" during login, the screen flashes a few times, the nVidia logo is displayed briefly, then the login screen is shown again. I can log in using Gnome, but would rather not. Attached is the output generated in /var/log/messages from the time I click on the login button until things settle down for the next login prompt.

The xconfd segfault info is down around line 94. I have no idea why gnome-session is running, much less writing to the messages file.
