I'm using Archlinux and just installed it and followed this instructions https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Thunar#Configuration_2 but the only I get is a "you are not the owner of this folder" error.
Same problem for me. The instructions to configure samba share are deprecated as "security=share" is no more accepted by samba. Even with the kind of smbd.conf it doesn't work : [global] workgroup = WORKGROUP security = user map to guest = Bad User usershare path = /var/lib/samba/usershares usershare max shares = 100 usershare allow guests = yes usershare owner only = yes The only way I've found to make it works is to change this line : usershare owner only = no But that means that any user can share any directory on the system!
