When using thunar to browse a samba share via gvfs/fuse, after deleting some files (hitting shift-Del from within Thunar and confirming deletion), they won't disappear until the folder is manually refreshed. Although I think this has to do with samba shares not notifying Thunar with changes, I believe Thunar should force a refresh in such cases.
