When xfprint is started for the first time, it does not refer to the settings in SYSDIR/etc/xdg/xfce4/printsettings.xml if this file exists. It is important for it to refer to this file before the users own file because this allows the sysadmin to set something trivial like default paper type for all users. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Expected Results: system should load sysdir/etc/xdg/xfce4/printsettings.xml if the user does not have their own. However, if the user makes a change and chooses the save option, it should save the print settings in the users directory, and no longer refer to the global printsettings.xml file.
i don't understand, i just checked and xfprint does load SYSDIR/etc/xdg/xfce4/printsettings.xml if it exists
You are correct.. my mistake. I'm not sure what happened, but I deleted my whole Xfce config and restarted, and everything is fine now. hmmm. sorry 'bout that.
