Here is the scenario:  I have my laptop plugged in.  After 10 minutes of being idle, the monitor goes to sleep.  When I wake it back up and while the power has remained plugged in, the brightness is reduced as if in power-saving mode.  It does not return to full brightness.

I can get it to go back into full brightness mode if I suspend and then wake it back up.
