I like the idea of custom actions. This way we can call imagemagick to resize/rotate current image. 

After calling an action, application should reload image. 

Regarding UI side, i believe custom actions could be defined in preferences dialog or just separate plain text file will be ok.

To support custom-actions, there should also be a way to implement a dialog-window that can be used to insert variables. Like new dimensions when resizing, or the image-format when converting between different image-formats.

I think that rules-out custom-actions and calls for the need to implement a plugin interface.
