Patch - don't crash tumblerd on pipeline timeouts etc.

I was suffering https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7996 and thought it seemed wrong that tumblerd would crash with an assertion failure on pipeline errors. Patch attached to be a bit more graceful.

Instead of simply returning I think we should report an error back to the scheduler. The same goes for the other error paths in gst-helper.c.

Ross copied gst-helper.c over from some other project so we didn't have to rewrite its functionality from scratch. The original intention was not to touch it or rather, to keep it in sync. However, looking at the increasing number of bugs in gst-helper.c I think we need to apply some changes and serious bug fixes...
