Created attachment 3862 window buttons settings I've set up my desktop with 2 panels. One on the left side of the left monitor. One on the right side of the right monitor. Both panels have window buttons in it. Window buttons is set up to only show buttons from its own display. When switching from clone mode to extended desktop with xrandr, the buttons from the wrong monitor are displayed. This behaviour is not constant though. It does however happen at least 90% of the time on one of the two monitors. steps to reproduce: setup a dual display as described above; Start a game, in my case einstein, which changes resolution and clones the display. Quit. Afterwards the display is a bit messed up. Arandr shows it's in clone modem, everything on the left side though is too far to the left. I also can't move the mouse to the most right part of that screen. I reset my display: xrandr --output VGA-0 --right-of DVI-0 Now all windows are on the left monitor. What usually happens is that both "window buttons" show the applications on the right monitor. This is at least 90% of the time. Sometimes though, one of the plugins shows windows from the left monitor. work around xfce4-panel -r or via gui: switch to an open application, move it to the right monitor, right mouse button on window buttons, properties, turn on "show windows from all monitors", then turn it off again. xfce4-panel --version xfce4-panel 4.8.5 (Xfce 4.8.0) xrandr --version xrandr program version 1.3.5
