Hey, here is my exact situation.

I have a CIFS dev I mounted with fstab like this :
//Server.IP/Share /media/Share cifs username=uname,password=passwd 0 0

It mounted, and then I wanted to change an option to the mount.
I had one subfolder of the mount open in Thunar, something 2 levels below the mount, like :

'Thunar, viewing : /media/Share/everyone/myfolder'

I then did 'sudo umount /media/Share', and Thunar's viewing pane (where files from 'myfolder' showed) simply emptied.
I thought it was normal (maybe it is), and I closed Thunar.

But when I remounted the 'Share', I realized the COMPLETE FOLDER HAD DISAPPEARED.
Not the full path, only the folder I was actually watching, which is 'myfolder'.
All other files in 'Share' and in 'everyone' are still there.
Note that not only the files in the folder but the file itself have disappeared.

Hopefully I'm in enterprise environment so there is an exact backup of those files in 'myfolder' but it could have been a major disaster ;-)

Thanks in advance,
Please let me know any way I can help.

Hey, important comment :
It didn't actually delete the folder !

But Thunar wouldnt show it anymore after remountnig, reopening Thunar and navigating to the 'myfolder' place...

You should be able to press refresh (F5), I guess it's because it concerns a remote file system that the directory is not refreshed automatically.
