As described here:

Mounting a mapped LUKS drive with udisks, it briefly shows up in Thunar's shortcut pane but then vanishes:

udisks --mount /dev/mapper/secretdrive

The mounted drive DOES show up in GTK open dialogs, as well as the shortcut pane in Nautilus.

Distro I'm running is Arch.

Poked around a bit in the Thunar source, it seems that 
thunar_shortcuts_model_volume_removed() is being called
just after I mount, which I think implies that the
"volume-removed" signal was sent?  Why would that be?
