Hello people. I've been using xfburn for a couple of years (on the same machine), and now it seems I have speed issues. I've converted at least 6 or 7 DVDs into coasters because of this problem. Signs: The recording stops with a memory error message, and the DVD is only partially recorded. The fixation process isn't started. I tried to limit the recording speed to 4x or 6x, but that didn't help, the speed indicator seems to indicate that xfburn simply ignores the limit and follows the max possible speed (increasing as the head moves from center to the outer rim). It stops at maybe 10x or so. The machine is a dual-core AMD64 at 2.6 GHz. It shouldn't have problems attending the requirements (it never had), even at max speed. k3b (using cdrecord) works fine, so it's not a drive problem (which is a Sony AD7240S SATA drive). Any solution to this? As it is, I simple can't use xfburn anymore. John
Forgot to mention: These problems seem to coincide with my upgrading to xfce 4.8 (which is much more dbus-dependend?)... I'm absolutely not sure if this is a coincidence or not, but it may be significant. I don't write large quantities of DVDs, so it's not easy to relate the events. John
Without a more exact error message there is pretty much nothing that I can do to solve this, sorry. I don't know of the top of my head of any "memory" error message.
I close this old bug. Please reopen if needed.
