Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Pidgin, wait for a notification 2. Click the "Show" button on the notification What should happen: The contact's chat window shows up (opens or gets focus if already open). What happens: Nothing. Tested on Arch Linux, xfce4-notifyd 0.2.1, Compiz _and_ XFWM.
Isn't it the bug in pidgin-libnotify that Gentoo claims it gets solved by this patch? http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/x11-plugins/pidgin-libnotify/files/pidgin-libnotify-showbutton.patch?revision=1.1&view=markup If it fixes this bug for you, I think you should report it to Debian as well as to your distribution (to Debian because Debian seems to be maintaining a set of patches for pidgin-libnotify). Anyway, it doesn't look like a bug in Xfce4-notifyd.
