Hey,

I'm not sure I really like the new (1.0) brightness notifications. I wondered if it could be possible to use libnotify the same way xfce4-volumed does.

Okay i agree, this will go for the xfce-4.10 branch which i'll start working on it shortly.

There's a jannis/use-libnotify in git which does that. We included it in our Debian package and it seems to work just fine so I think it could be merged to master.
