Could you please provide an option to disable the unnecessary icon (like battery plugin)?
On small screens, panel space is a scarce commodity…

Fixed in http://git.xfce.org/panel-plugins/xfce4-wavelan-plugin/commit/?id=4c05471e855a5e83ef334873cdaef9754e12c2f0. I'll make another release soon.
