If a file or folder is selected in thunar, you can't copy the path of the current folder by selecting it with mouse in the address bar and pressing ctrl+c. Instead, the currently selected file is copied. It works if no file or folder is selected or if you use right-click->copy. Expected behavior: Ctrl+c applies to the address bar if it has the focus.
Not a good idea. I get your point, but then we have to make exceptions for other focused widgets too.
This seems to be a duplicate of bug 7242.
@Nick Schermer can you give a design rationale rather than a generic motivation? in particular, a solid rationale, should take into account: 1. that all the other file managers behave as the bug reported mentioned. whoever programmed thunar, should have at least ever opened one of them 2. very interestingly, the semantics of the current behavior are inconsistent. what if the user selects, say, half of the directory (in the location bar) and clicks copy. can you tell with exactness which is the 1) paste outcome and 2) semantics of such operation? both ponits are crystal clear with the semantics of the other file managers.
Never mind; Caja actually does this right, and the switch can be done quite easily.
