For a majority of the available icon themes including "Tango", thunar is unable to display:
TEMPLATES
PUBLICSHARE
DOCUMENTS
MUSIC
PICTURES
VIDEOS
(directories as defined by /etc/xdg/user-dirs.defaults)

For a fair share of the available icon themes, thunar is unable to display any folder icons, with the exception of:
DESKTOP
HOME

In all these cases, thunar displays icons from the "gnome" theme as fallback.

Note that while thunar may be broken, the GTK filechooser dialog box and Nautilus continue to display all the affected icon themes normally.

"faenza", "elementary", "buuf", "cheser" are several of the few icon themes on "http://gnome-look.org/" that continue to work normally.

Tango just not provide any of such icons =)

In gtk filechooser you see regular folder icon.

Would be nice implement fallback to regular folder icon in Thunar too.

Although, it isn't Thunar bug, it's just uses inherited default theme.

IMHO not an issue in Thunar.
